What is counselling?
Counselling can mean a range of things for many people. However, person-centred counselling provides a place to talk privatelyindependently gaining self-awareness and having the ability to think and feel emotions with clarity and understanding. A safe, confidential, therapeutic space is provided allowing you to be open and honest with your issues, exploring them freely without being judged, just accepted. Everyone is different and unique and this is respected in counselling.
My Counselling Work
My counselling approach is person-centred based on the theory of psychologist Dr Carl Rogers from the humanistic theories. Talking one-on-one in a non-judgemental empathetic accepting manner creates a strong therapeutic relationship that enables in depth self-exploration. My counselling work is governed by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) professional body - www.bacp.co.uk.
I am experienced in the following issues:
- Family life
