- Informed Consent – Before any procedure or treatment, patients must provide informed consent, knowing the benefits and potential risks.
- Confidentiality and Privacy – A patient’s medical information must be kept confidential, and only shared with authorized individuals, except in cases of legal requirements.
Beneficence (Promote Well-being)
- We have an ethical duty to act in the best interest of our patients, striving to improve their health and well-being. This includes offering high-quality care and prioritizing patient safety.
Justice and Fairness
- Equitable Access: We should aim to provide equitable access to care, ensuring we do not discriminate based on race, gender, socioeconomic status, or other biases.
Respect and Dignity
- Every patient must be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their background or circumstances.
- Cultural sensitivity and empathy should guide interactions with patients to create a supportive and comfortable environment.
