How do I book a Biomechanical gait analysis
Our guide to your Gait Analysis journey
The very first step to booking your Gait Analysis appointment is to contact us to book in for an Initial Musculoskeletal Assessment with our MSK Specialist Podiatrist. In this assessment she will take a full medical history including any existing conditions and medications taken. We will also conduct physical tests such as range of motion and a visual gait analysis. Functional tests may be performed if appropriate ,which can include heel raises, hopping, squatting to establish the strength of your foot and leg muscles . After these tests have been carried out a treatment plan will then be created by your Podiatrist.
Your podiatrist may also recommend strengthening exercises, a change in footwear and orthotic insoles as part of your treatment plan.

State of the art Digital Foot Scanner
When you attend your Gait Analysis appointment your Podiatrist will ask you to remove your socks and shoes and take you through to our Specialist Biomechanics clinic room. You will then be asked various questions relating to your current issues and what you would like to achieve with us. We will then assess your joint mobility, muscle strength and postural alignment to assist with our diagnosis and check for any abnormalities. You will be asked to walk a short distance up and down so that we can observe how your body is moving before stepping onto our digital foot scanner.
digital footscan
A thorough digital analysis of your feet
You will be asked to stand on the FootScan plate barefoot to create a detailed image of your foots shape, structure and pressure points. Our scanner uses specialist technology to capture a 3D image of the foot and can measure your foot from multiple angles. We will also be able to measure how your weight is distributed across different parts of your foot, capturing dynamic pressure data when standing or walking. The scanning plate will then collects data points related to the foot’s dimensions, arch height, heel alignment, and the distribution of pressure as the foot makes contact with the ground. Finally it will gather information on the size, length, width, and volume of the foot, creating a detailed digital map.
